Tuesday Jul 26, 2022
Tuesday Jul 26, 2022
This week on the podcast, we take on yet another Uwe Boll classic and our third entry in his canon on the list of video game movies: It's Far Cry! This Till Schweiger led vehicle introduces the podcast to the concept of a German production English language movie filmed in British Columbia. Why did this happen? Well, tax credits, Uwe Boll seems somewhat unhinged and more!

Ep. 191 - Adding to the Endless - Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six
Tuesday Jul 19, 2022
Tuesday Jul 19, 2022
This week on the podcast, we're adding another one towards the bottom of the list: It's 1992's Spider-Man Return of the Sinister Six. One look at the box art and you'd think yes I want to spend my money on this game. One look at the gameplay and you'd immediately know you've made a huge mistake. Definitely one of those games that benefit from the time before the internet and when rentals were booming. This is an avoid at all costs game that you'll love hearing about as we add it to the Endless List of Video Games.
Where did it end up? Find out on the podcast or check out the complete list (linked here).

Tuesday Jul 12, 2022
Tuesday Jul 12, 2022
This week on the podcast, we're adding the 2nd Batman Arkham game in Batman: Arkham City. A much improved game to the already pretty good Arkham Asylum, this game brings Batman to an entire district within Gotham which has been converted into a prison (for some reason). All the Batman villains are here: Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, Two-Face and more! Where did it land on our Endless List of games?

Tuesday Jul 05, 2022
Tuesday Jul 05, 2022
This week on the podcast, I once again forgot to record and we started speaking for 5 minutes before we realized: It's the Secret Island of Dr. Quandary. By listener request, we added this game to the podcast. We felt powerful David Lynch vibes and got lost in the edutainment. Is this a good game? (LarryDavid.gif) Is it a bad game?

Ep. 188 - ISB Goes to the Movies - Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Tuesday Jun 28, 2022
Tuesday Jun 28, 2022
This week on the podcast, we're adding our first Japanese produced live-action movie to the list of video game movies with Yakuza: Like A Dragon. This movie was a totally unknown quantity for the entire crew on the podcast. We also had done very little research before watching it so we had no clue what to expect. Turns out the movie is pretty good and keeps to the Yakuza-style quite well. It even pulled off the wild antics of Goro Majima and was able to showcase some of the wilder side stories from the game series.
Where did it land on our list of video game movies? Find out on the podcast or click here for the spoiler.

Ep. 187 - Adding to the Endless - Portal
Tuesday Jun 21, 2022
Tuesday Jun 21, 2022
This week on the podcast, we add another all-timer to the Endless List: It's Portal. We're thinkin with Portals now as we rank this FPS puzzle platformer about shooting portals to solve puzzles and save your companion cube. This game largely helped to popularize the notion that FPS games aren't just about shooting anymore. You can do other things with those types of games!

Ep. 186 - Adding to the Endless - Broforce
Tuesday Jun 14, 2022
Tuesday Jun 14, 2022
This week on the brocast, broing down on some Broforce as we add it to the brolist. You play as a parody of a 80s/90s action movie star in this action platformer inspired by Spelunky and Contra. Play as Brommando, Rambro, the Brode, Brochete and many many more as you kill terrorists, aliens and other nonsensical things that Americans in the 80s/90s loved. Where did it land on our Endless List?

Ep. 185 - Adding to the Endless - Virtual Pro Wrestling 2
Tuesday Jun 07, 2022
Tuesday Jun 07, 2022
This week on the podcast, we add another AKI wrestling game to the Endless List of Video Games: It's Virtual Pro Wrestling 2. This game sits at an interesting point in the development of the AKI N64 wrestlings games. This is directly between Wrestlemania 2000 and WWF No Mercy. Only released in Japan, it has the All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) license but cleverly features reskins of wrestlers from a wide variety of pro wrestling and MMA promotions including NJPW, FMW, Pride and so much more. The game was a cult classic among importers and some say it's the best wrestling video game ever. Where did we rank it on the Endless List of games?

Ep. 184 - ISB Goes to the Movies - Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within
Tuesday May 31, 2022
Tuesday May 31, 2022
Hironobu Sakaguchi, the man who made Final Fantasy, decided he wanted to create a CGI studio and make a final fantasy movie. In the early 2000s, when Final Fantasy VII was one of the best games of the last decade and the JPRG franchise was becoming a massive cultural hit they decided to make a "Final Fantasy" movie with zero Final Fantasy references! This movie ain't great folks! Where did we rank it?

Ep. 183 - Adding to the Endless - Top Gun
Tuesday May 24, 2022
Tuesday May 24, 2022
This week we play a much maligned NES game in Top Gun in anticipation of the new arrival of the new movie in the franchise, Top Gun: Maverick. You play as a fighter pilot who could or could not be Maverick. Your mission is to go on four missions with the ultimate goal of destroying the enemy's space shuttle(?). We ask the questions: Is the landing too hard? Is this game fun? Where does this game go on the Endless List of Video Games?
